Once upon a time, these words were warmth.
Blanketing my skin.
Moving in and out of me, excited.
Flames of a four letter word in my chest.
It was yours, ironic.
That flame shall now eradicate.
Burn.
All I once knew, severed.
Ties chained to my heart's discontent.
Wistfully fly away.
Scorched tissue.
Fabric of emotion.
Ink on paper.
A portion of you, manifested.
upon my tangible reality.
Now burns.
Your words are ashes.
In every sense of the word, meaningless.
Memories.
The poison in my veins, devour.
Finding comfort amidst the thorns.
Every rose hides its hurt.
Why do I return to this place?
Sadistic.
The mind is my weapon of choice.
Lingering on what once was, past.
Where I have been.
From your tongue fell such revelries and devotion, conditional.
I found a four letter word to be.
Holding its own weight in sand, falling.
Through my hands.
In the now.
My eyes fixed in trance.
Your words becoming ash, manifest.
The burden upon me falls to the floor.
My mind's ammunition is depleted.
The plastic bag, once suffocating.
Has left my neck before damage was done.
Meaning to the meaningless.
A four letter word is a scar, reminding.
I am still here.
Beauty surrounds evermore, free.
As a bird some say.
To fly, to soar to new heights.
I let go.
The definition of a four letter word.
